Studying in Dessau gives great opportunities for Germans to get in touch with internationals from all over the world that come to this small town for their international master studies. Sadly though, they mostly stay in separated groups, too scared of getting out of their comfort zone, or to speak another language.
With the intention to change something about this situation and connect those groups, Lena Pozdnyakova, Olga Michel Chico and I organised a weekly film event to attract German as well as international students.
Every week we looked for a nationality represented by students on the campus and asked them to choose a movie that reflects both art and culture of their country.
Additionally, there were posters showing a graphic created by people of this nation, and installations on the campus that we created all together to attract people for the events.
My part among others was to create the identity and visual elements of the project.
