This lamp is the result of the so called Thai Product Class, one of the projects from my exchange in Thailand. This class mostly consisted of great trips around the country with the intention to get to know traditional handicraft, tools and art. During the last weeks we were given the task to develop a product inspired by Thai tradition, but with a modern world purpose. My approach is inspired by the flexibility and aesthetic of the traps that fisherman traditionally used to catch fish. Many of these traps have an expandable structure to jam fish as soon as they swim inside. My lamp uses a similar flexible structure that can be opened for ambient light and closed for a more focused light.
